1. Project definition

Your Into-Nations contact strikes up a dialogue with you to help define your needs (languages, field, deadlines, specific features such as terminology, American or British English so on) and identify the resources necessary for the completion of the project (from human resources such as translators/proof-readers to terminological resources).

2. The quote

Unless a specific rate has already been negotiated, a quote is drawn up setting out the rate and the deadline.
The price depends on the number of words, the languages concerned, the volume, deadline and the technical difficulty, among other things.
The deadline is calculated to suit your needs but also according to the capacity and availability of the translators. We count on an average of 1000 words translated per translator per day. In some cases, a project might need to be split into several parts so as to reduce the deadline, in which case the translation is then harmonised before delivery.

3. Organisation of the project

Upon receipt of the order form, the Project Manager organises the resources needed to complete the work requested:

- The translator(s) are sent a copy of the translation file including the documents to be translated, any glossaries and reference documents, any specifications and a document specifically intended for any interaction with the customer (validation of terminology, extracts which require explanation and so on).

- The terminology is updated in line with the work done by Into-Nations and may be accessed round-the-clock by our translators on an FTP site protected by a password.

- While the translation work is underway, the file manager makes sure that the translation is progressing according to schedule and enquires about any problems (terminology, understanding, translation problem). Any problems are handled in-house or submitted to the customer for a response and/or validation.

4. Proof-reading

The file manager sends the proof-reader the source and target texts, the glossaries and reference documents and a summary of any discussions between Into-Nations and the customer, as well as any relevant specifications for the translation along with a proof-reading sheet to be returned.

5. Delivery of the translation and closing of the file

Upon receipt of the translated document, the project manager checks that the translation is complete. He returns the translation to the customer, along with any questions or comments. After checking that the customer has received the translation and the file is complete, he then transmits the file to the invoicing department.
